The National Medicare Fairness Campaign is a specific campaign being launched from within the Chiropractic Profession.  The objective is to eliminate the current discrimination against patients that decide to choose a Doctor of Chiropractic for their healthcare by modifying the current law that limits coverage to just the adjustment to correct a subluxation.  Section 1861(r)5 states: ” (… a chiropractor who is licensed as such by the State (or in a State which does not license chiropractors as such, is legally authorized to perform the services of a chiropractor in the jurisdiction in which he performs such services), and who meets uniform minimum standards promulgated by the Secretary, but only for the purpose of sections 1861(s)(1) and1861(s)(2)(A) and only with respect to treatment by means of manual manipulation of the spine (to correct a subluxation) which he is legally authorized to perform by the State or jurisdiction in which such treatment is provided.”

The Cover My Care campaign is a broad campaign launched by the Integrative Health Policy Consortium and their member Partners for Health.  This project is aimed at the proper implementation of the Section 2706 of the PPACA (Obamacare), which calls for the elimination of discrimination in insurance plans.  Section 2706 states:  “A group health plan and a health insurance issuer offering group or individual health insurance coverage shall not discriminate with respect to participation under the plan or coverage against any health care provider who is acting within the scope of that provider’s license or certification under applicable State law. “
